Shop’s Open: I’m Accepting Commissions for 2019 and 2020
As 2018 comes to a close, I’m spending time reflecting on some of my professional endeavors from the past year. Among the greatest joys in my musical year has been getting so many opportunities to create new works for performers and ensembles who want to add something new to their repertoire. Just this past year, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a slew of folks in three different time zones. Each collaboration has been incredibly rewarding for me, and I’m pleased to announce I’m now accepting commissions for 2019 and 2020.
Some of you might be reading this and wondering why I’m extending my commission calendar to include two years instead of one. Valid question. Because the commission process can be lengthy, particularly with large ensembles, I want to give directors and ensembles the time and attention needed for plenty of communication. That said, it’s not uncommon for smaller commissions to be done in two months or less, so if you’re working toward a shorter-term goal, please come talk to me about that too! Earlier is always better, but I’m happy to listen and do what I can (and be honest with you about what that means) regardless of the timeline. If you’re new to commissioning or want to find out a little more about what I do, check out my blog post from a few months ago about how I structure my commission process and what I try to accomplish with my work.
Finally, if you’re interested in commissioning me, please feel free to peruse the works I’ve included below. Though you can find all my works on my website in some form or another, these selections are some of my more recent offerings, and they accurately reflect the breadth of the work I’m doing currently. If anything piques your interest, shoot me a message! You can reach me at eris [at] erisdejarnett [dot] com. ♦
